Computer hacker Allison Trent bent a lot of rules in the search for justice. On the rare occasion that she actually did break a rule by hacking into a protected computer site, she always did so with the best of intentions. But that doesn't mean Allison doesn't know that she could very well end up behind bars if anyone found out what she's been up to. FBI agent Liam Scott is desperate. Someone inside the FBI is leaking classified secrets that put a number of high-priority cases in jeopardy, and Liam needs Allison's computer expertise to find the culprit. While Allison likes to think she is one of the good guys, she has no intention of accepting Liam's offer until he offers a proposition she simply can't refuse. After a three-year literary hiatus, Garwood returns with another thrilling romantic suspense novel that neatly showcases her flair for creating engaging and easily relatable characters and a compelling plot that seems to have been ripped from today's headlines. A crime investigation turns steamy when an FBI agent recruits an idealistic hacker in the latest romantic thriller from Garwood (Fast Track, 2014, etc.).Allison Trent hesitates when Liam Scott offers her a job tracking a security leak within the FBIâshe knows she could help, but if he finds out she illegally hacked a bank's server to return stolen money to its rightful owners, she could be the target of a new investigation. Liam, however, is desperate for her skills (and distracted by her good looks), so he offers her immunity for all her crimes if she agrees to take the case. She's moments away from saying no when her out-of-control cousin gets into more legal trouble, giving her no choice but to accept Liam's offer if it means he'll help her family as well. Allison is grateful that her aunt and uncle adopted her and her sister after their parents died, but their drunken fights and constant demands for money are taking a toll on her sanity. Readers will feel for Alliso n as her aunt and uncle repeatedly take advantage of her kindness to keep their son out of prison; and Allison's heartthrob, Liam, is enigmatic yet surprisingly warm. But her efficiency in finding the rogue FBI agent and her willingness to reveal her secrets without much detective work from Liam make the novel's main plot and back story seem to switch places. Overall, a few computer glitches won't detract from this pleasing romance in which finding out the truth leads to finding true love. Copyright Kirkus 2017 Kirkus/BPI Communications. Allison Trent has such a way with computers that FBI agent Liam Scott invites her to join the bureau to help him flush out a cybercriminal he's desperately hunting down. But no diceâuntil Allison is promised that if she works for the FBI for a year, her wayward younger brother's criminal record will be erased. Naturally, Liam himself proves to be a fringe benefit.

Ever since computer science whiz Allison Trent secretly took down a clever trio of greedy students involved in illegal hacking, she's been hooked on the thrill of breaking into "impossible" sites and collecting intriguing bugs. Though she does no harm, she's been skirting the law, so when she's offered a job by the FBI to help discover an internal leak, she hesitates. She just wants to finish college and stay out of jail, but the FBI isn't about to let her go, and it's up to charismatic agent Liam Scott to change her mind. A brilliant, puzzle-solving heroine and an enigmatic, persuasive FBI agent fight their attraction as they unmask a traitor, ruin a thief, and see a pair of vicious relatives get their comeuppance.
